Racing Adventures Only

a Short-Drive from Atlanta

Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta and Panoz Museum

Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta

This area has long been recognized as a hotspot for road racing, particularly because it is home to the Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. This world-class motorsports facility features 2.54 miles of stunning road course in the rolling hills of Northeast Georgia. What was once farmland some 50 years ago is now the kind of racecar setting we all dreamed of as kids.

The facility hosts professional and amateur sports car and motorcycle races all year round. Some well-known events include The Mitty, Drift Atlanta and of course the infamous Motul Petit Le Mans. This classic event is a 10-hour endurance race inspired by a longer 24-hour race that takes place in Le Mans, France.

Racecar enthusiasts flock to Georgia each October for this event to watch or participate in four days of epic races and celebration. This and other events are always family-friendly, as children 12 and under get in for free and can enjoy the kids’ zones that are set up to keep them busy. But they typically get just as excited about the races as the adults.

A Race about to begin

Vroom vroom… the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Your heartbeat starts to beat faster. Your eyes open wide, chills cover your body and adrenaline rushes through your veins. We all know what this sound means – a race is about to begin.

There’s something about the sound of an engine revving up that brings out the kid in all of us. Whether you used to race little toy cars in the driveway when you were younger or not, we can all get excited by the sounds of a racetrack. And one place where you can find that excitement is Braselton, Georgia.

Panoz Museum

Another reason this area gets so much attention by racecar lovers is that it is home to the notorious Panoz, manufacturer of luxury sports cars. From the Panoz Roadster to the

Esperante GT, the shimmer of these cars has always attracted famous drivers and celebrities to get behind the wheel of them. Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, and actors Patrick Dempsey and Paul Newman all had ties to Panoz racing.

In Braselton is located the Panoz Museum, where you can find a collection of Panoz cars and memorabilia from their 25 years of producing beautifully crafted cars. Here, you can also learn the fascinating story of the father-son duo behind the Panoz line, Dan and Don Panoz.

About Braselton

Braselton is just 35 miles north of Atlanta, making it the perfect getaway outside of the city lights, and still with so much to see. It’s also host to the award-winning winery and resort, Chateau Elan, which offers unforgettable places to stay, eat, play golf or just relax in the serene setting of the resort or their lush spa.

And trust us, this town isn’t just for the boys – it’s filled with great antique shopping, beautiful trails, golf courses and a vintage red trolley to get you around. It isn’t a racecar, but now you know where to find those.
