Enjoy a Brooksville Christmas on Main Street

One of the most popular ways to celebrate Christmas on Florida’s Adventure Coast is by heading to Brooksville. This little town of just 8,000 people really goes all out for Christmas. As a matter of fact, it may be one of the best places to celebrate Christmas in Florida! And the center of all of Brooksville’s fun holiday activities is Main Street.

In general, Christmas on Main Street in Brooksville is quite an experience. With eye-catching holiday décor, friendly faces, and catchy Christmas music, you’ll feel as if you’ve taken a turn into the North Pole!

And while you can enjoy the holiday spirit in Brooksville on any day in December, the best time to visit is during the town’s annual Christmas on Main festival. Complete with 100 vendors, live music, and even a sprinkling of fake snow, Christmas on Main is an amazing Christmas event that you won’t want to miss.

Watch the Hernando Beach Yacht Club’s Annual Christmas Boat Parade

Christmas parades are a rather common event around the holidays. But Christmas boat parades definitely aren’t. The Hernando Beach Yacht Club’s Annual Christmas Boat Parade may be the coolest Christmas boat parade on Florida’s Adventure Coast.

Dozens of boats participate in this annual holiday festival. As these lovely boats sail around, you can admire their twinkling lights, colorful decorations, and Christmas music!

But the coolest part of the Hernando Beach Yacht Club’s Annual Christmas Boat Parade may be the fact that it gives back. In 2020, this parade gave hundreds of toys to Toys for Tots – and many of them were donated by parade watchers! Volunteers in the parade boats held out nets into which watchers on the docks could toss their toys. What a fun way to give back!

Support Local Businesses with Brooksville’s Christmas on the Hill

Brooksville’s Christmas on the Hill may be one of the most wonderful Florida Christmas festivals. Christmas is a season of giving, so why not give a gift that keeps on giving by purchasing presents from a local Florida business? That’s what Brooksville’s Christmas on the Hill is all about.

As you wander around downtown Brooksville, you can pop into the many participating shops and search for Christmas gifts for the people on your list. Find everything from Florida-inspired apparel to exotic teas to handcrafted ornaments. To make things even better, many of these shops offer special discounts and door prizes! You definitely don’t want to miss out.

Celebrate the Holidays with Mermaids at Weeki Wachee Springs State Park

Weeki Wachee Springs is known for one thing in particular: mermaids! And each December, these mermaids are ready to celebrate the holidays too!

There are two different holiday celebrations at Weeki Wachee Springs. The first is the Holiday Light Display. At this event, you’ll be able to see Weeki Wachee Springs State Park decked out in some of the most colorful lights in town. Walk down Elf Lane, buy a few holiday goodies in the gift shop, and snap a few pictures with Santa and his mermaid elves.

After the Holiday Light Display comes to an end, Winter Waterland begins! Of Weeki Wachee Springs two holiday events, Winter Waterland is the more popular one. This event has many similarities to the previous one, including colorful lights, holiday treats, and an appearance by Santa and his mermaid elves. But there are a few added bonuses that help Winter Waterland stand out.

Winter Waterland is all about entertainment – so much so that there are three different live events! Check out the live nativity, catch the Illuminations of Light show, and watch the special holiday-themed mermaid performance!

Pop by the Beasley Farm Christmas Farmers Market

But Santa doesn’t just visit the mermaids on Florida’s Adventure Coast. He visits a few of the farms as well, including the Beasley Farm Christmas Farmers Market.

Beasley Farm runs a market throughout the year, but, in December, there’s one special Christmas-themed one. So in addition to all of the usual goodies, like fresh produce, blooming sunflowers, and friendly animals, you’ll get a few bonus ones. Baked goods, candles, soap, kettle corn, and home décor are just the start. And don’t forget to take a picture with Santa!
