Year 1565:  the birthplace of St. Augustine and Colonial European America. This is where it all began. Drink from the Legendary Fountain at the Ponce de Leon's World Famous Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park. See stars in the Planetarium and visit the Native Timucua Indian Village. Hear the Spanish Cannon roar! They welcome the whole family. Learn the story of America's Oldest, permanent European Colony established by Spanish Explorer Pedro Menendez in 1565 and then stand on the actual location discovered by archaeologists. Since 1934, archaeologists have made a long list of major finds at the Park, and excavations continue to this day at Ponce de Leon's Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park, and  the discoveries have rewritten history textbooks time and time again.
