Peer Into A Crystal Ball at the Future Masters Golf Tournament
Former competitors in the Future Masters Golf Tournament reads like a who’s who of professional golf. U.S. Open champions Hubert Green and Jerry Pate, Master’s winner Larry Mize, PGA champions Bob Tway, Mark Brooks and Shawn Michael and British Open winner Ben Curtis, along with a long list of tour professionals, have all played in this proving ground for junior golfers. From June 20 – 27, 2015 another field of talented hopefuls will compete at the Dothan Country Club in four age groups: 10 and under, 11 – 12, 13 – 14 and 15 – 18.
The club’s course is challenging for anyone. Water comes into play on several holes, and some of the fairways are narrow, surrounded by majestic pine trees and azaleas. The rough is high, the greens are small and the bunkers are positioned to make you think twice about club selection. However, great shots are rewarded with perfectly groomed fairways and greens. This great tournament, now in its 66th year, is not only about golf but about the spirit of competition, friendships made, sportsmanship and growing golf.
