The other day I received an email from a new raw feeding who didn't know where to find raw dog food. Ohhhh, this brought back memories. When I started feeding raw, I had no idea where to begin. It never occurred to me that I could find raw at local pet stores or that I could make the meals myself.
There is an amazing Asian market in our area that has amazing cuts of meat, fish, fresh vegetables, and more. When I make a trip to the market, I have to block out a few hours because it takes me a while to check out everything available. I usually stop by an Asian market every other month to buy food for my dogs.
Many of the foods that are a mainstay in a raw fed dog's diet are no longer available at the grocery store, but they are available in the ethnic markets: beef tongue, pork kidneys, quail eggs, and more. And the vegetables are so fresh.

We started this company to get access to better food for our own pets, and we've grown to extend that to you. It's our family's business to make sure you know what's in your dog's food: fresh, raw, biologically appropriate ingredients that promote health rather than just sustain life.
Every day, armed with our unwavering passion and the expertise of a Ph.D. animal nutritionist, we work toward our vision of a future where the diet nature intended, rather than processed kibble, becomes the pet food norm. We Feed Raw is not only the name of our company, it's our friendly rallying cry. Join our tribe.
We've been ordering for our golden for years. High quality food that keeps our little one healthy and happy! It is a great small business, with fantastic customer support and care. We wouldn't order from anyone else!
We have used this food for many years for our Papillon show dogs. We started using it when we lived in NJ and are now delighted that they ship to us in Florida. Their food is consistently high quality and our Champions thrive on it.
Semi-moist food typically comes in ready-to-serve pouches and is usually more expensive than kibble. It often contains more artificial colors, sodium, and sugar, too. The texture is often crumbly or like craft dough, and it has a shorter shelf life and can dry out quickly.
Vegan and vegetarian prepared foods are specialized diets that are often popular among pet owners who are vegan themselves. Always consult a board-certified veterinary nutritionist or veterinarian with an understanding of nutritional health to see if your dog is a good candidate for a vegan or vegetarian diet.
Any reputable pet food company should be able to provide insight about several things: whether or not it employs a vet nutritionist2; who formulates its diets (like a pet food formulator with an advanced degree in pet nutrition); its quality-control process; and whether it conducts any peer-reviewed product or nutritional research.

Watch your dog get excited about their food again! They may be telling us what food they prefer or taking their food drive to a whole new level! We've seen raw dog food provide benefits like better digestion, more energy, allergy relief, leaner, stronger muscles and healthy teeth and gums. You know your dog and how your dog feels better than anybody! You are the only one who can actually notice the benefits of better nutrition and you should be able to feed your dog a complete and balanced meal that began with human grade meats and ingredients.
Kibble may be the only thing you have ever known. Which is exactly where I was and the vast majority of other people who began their dog food journey in the kibble aisle. Kibble should not be the only option for you or your dogs. If an all-raw diet is not an option, adding our raw treats and toppers can be a great way to introduce your canine companion to raw feeding and supplement their nutrition. Raw feeding takes more work but we think it is well worth it! The proof is in your dogs! We suggest that you research transitioning to a raw diet and speak to your veterinarian with any concerns you may have. You need to do what is best for you and your pack, at whatever level of raw feeding you feel comfortable with.
Our goal at Raw Dog Food FL is to provide you with quality raw dog food in a consistent, convenient and cost effective manner. Some like to mix raw and kibble together and serve that twice a day, as it makes the kibble more appetizing (one caveat: mixing can sometimes result in gassiness). We usually suggest that people experiment to find the best fit for their dog(s) and household.

I love their wide selections of meat!!!! The prices on their bone marrow are super competitive so I usually come back when we have bone marrow on the menu. My pup also loves raw food and so everytime I'm here I pick him up some new things to try :)
This place has made my life so much easier. I transitioned my dog to a raw food diet and had to prepare it myself following the 80/10/10 formula. This can get difficult and messy. I one day ran across their website and saw they sell packaged raw dog food and had to go check it out myself. I immediately thought I would be spending an arm and a leg but to my surprise, it was very affordable and sold in 1lb packages. They do deliver if needed. Everyone is so friendly too
Thank you Freshpet! Bailey Rose is a 5lb chihuahua and will be 10 years old. Shortly after we moved, she developed a stone in her stomach that had to be removed. Then, she started having seizures and was limping when she walked. The vet suggested taking her to a specialist for more testing but indicated there was not much they could do. We did some research and decided to change her food! 8 months later and she is healthier and more active than ever!
Raw foods sold in retail stores can be excellent, however, some may not be worth your money or may contain rancid fats. The difference is almost always the quality of the retailer. Try to buy your foods from retailers that are meticulous in their handling and rotating of raw foods. Foods are kept best in freezers that are not frost-free, because frost-free freezers cycle the temperatures up and down in order to reduce the frost build-up in the freezer, making nicer looking freezers, but poorer quality food. Good retailers order raw foods often (they do not overstock raw foods), rotate their stock consistently, have quality freezers that keep the food at constant temperatures, know the manufacturers, demand the best from them, and often test their products.
Steve Brown is a dog food formulator, researcher, and author on canine nutrition. Since 2003 he has focused on research and education. He is the author of two books on canine nutrition (See Spot Live Longer, now in its 8th printing, and Unlocking the Canine Ancestral Diet (Dogwise Publishing, 2010); and a 40-page booklet, See Spot Live Longer the ABC Way.
