Find Heaven in Southern Food & Wine

The Internationally Acclaimed Blue Willow Inn Restaurant

The internationally acclaimed Blue Willow Inn Restaurant is located in the historic district of Social Circle in a turn-of-the-century Greek revival mansion. At the time of construction, the house was one of the most substantial properties in Walton County. While the Upshaws lived in their grand home, Margaret Mitchell, author of Gone with the Wind, was a frequent visitor during courtship with Redd Upshaw, her first husband. Redd Upshaw, was the character basis for Rhett Butler in Gone with the Wind. Whether dressing for the theatre or casually touring the area, you are invited to enjoy the Blue Willow's Southern feast. No one is allowed to leave hungry after feasting on a variety of Southern salads, meats, vegetables, breads, and desserts. Along with your meal, enjoy sweetened iced tea, the "Champagne of the South," and lemonade.

Yonah Mountain Vineyards

Yonah Mountain Vineyards is a privately held 197 acre estate. Visits to the vineyard and Georgia winery are best made by joining the Tour de la Cave & Barrel Tasting, which is offered at noon on most Saturdays. Contact the tasting room for reservations and to prepay. Visits to the Georgia vineyard can also be made by appointment. Currently, seven varieties of grapes are thriving on 13 acres of the rolling hills property. Chardonnay was planted in 2007; Cabernet Sauvignon in 2008. Eight additional acres were planted in 2011 with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and other noble grapes. Yonah Mountain Vineyards took its first harvest in 2010.  The mountain is a geological formation of granite that rises from the surrounding landscape separate from the Appalachian range of mountains. It is an ancient and distinctive mountain whose humped profile can be seen from miles around.
